Interview with Bill Hogg, born 1950 in Dumfries. Bill begins by talking about his early working life. Most of the interview is concerned with his time in the agricultural feed industry with James Wylie and Son and then, as through different owners: first the Co-op and then Dalgety Agriculture. There is a detailed explanation of the animal feed manufacturing process as well as: the structure of the company and other subsiduaries; how the company changed over time; staffing and changes in agricultural practice. Towards the end of the interview Bill talks about the original Mr Dalgety, who made his money in Australia (and relates a funny story about Errol Flynn). He greatly enjoyed his working life, becoming customer services manager for the whole of Scotland in due course. He speaks fondly of work colleagues, management and farmers and relates a number of anecdotes relating to his working life, including the battle to control vermin (rats, pigeons) which beset feed mills.
